What can I do if my husband’s company refuses to liquidate his 401k, but it is part of our divorce settlement?
-My husband and I are divorcing on good terms and he agreed to liquidate his 401k to pay off our joint debt and buy me out of the house. His company is refusing to allow him to do this since he still works for the company. Obviously he has no intention of quitting anytime soon. What are my options? If we don鈥檛 liquidate the 401k I get nothing since he can鈥檛 afford to buy me out and I will be stuck paying off bad debt. After this heartbreak. I really just want a fresh start.what should have happened is you should get 1/2 his 401k through QUATRO and it should have nothing to do with him, you file for it and it will take MONTHS to get your cash so if that is the case - FILE SOON - it should be in the divorce papers
